Terms of Service
Last updated: August 22, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of PortalShip, a customer portal that connects to your HubSpot account (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and, if applicable, the business you represent (“you,” the “Admin”).
1. The Service
PortalShip lets you connect your HubSpot account and expose a branded portal to your own customers, showing project timelines, support tickets, quotes, and documents drawn live from your HubSpot data. We don’t provide a HubSpot alternative and we don’t migrate or duplicate your CRM data — the Service reads and writes to the HubSpot account you connect.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for activity that occurs under it. You represent that you are authorized to act on behalf of the business you sign up for, including authorizing PortalShip’s access to that business’s HubSpot account.
3. Your HubSpot connection and data
When you connect HubSpot, you grant PortalShip permission to access and modify data in your HubSpot account solely to operate the Service on your behalf — for example, reading deal and ticket data to display your customer portal, or creating a note when a customer submits a request. You retain all ownership of your HubSpot data. You can disconnect HubSpot at any time from your account settings, which immediately revokes our access.
4. Your customers
You are responsible for your relationship with the customers you invite to your portal, including having the right to invite them and to share their contact and project information with them through the Service. You’re responsible for complying with any laws or agreements that apply to your own handling of your customers’ data, independent of PortalShip.
5. Subscriptions and billing
PortalShip offers a free trial period, after which continued use requires a paid subscription, billed through Stripe. Pricing and billing terms (including how invited customers factor into your plan) are shown at checkout and in your account’s billing settings. You may cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and we don’t provide refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or another user’s account or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where the law expressly permits it
- Use the Service to send spam, malware, or otherwise abuse your connected HubSpot account or your customers
7. Intellectual property
PortalShip and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by PortalShip and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms don’t grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding. You retain all rights to your own HubSpot data and any content you or your customers submit through the Service.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will accurately reflect your HubSpot data at every moment, since it depends on HubSpot’s own availability and data.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PortalShip will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, including through non-payment or misuse of the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends, though these Terms’ provisions that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict of laws principles, and any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in Utah.
