Customization
Every setting below controls what customers see and edit. Nothing here changes what your team sees inside HubSpot itself.
Contact fields
Choose which HubSpot contact properties — including your own custom ones — customers can view and edit from their Account page. Pulled live from your portal’s actual property list, so anything you create in HubSpot shows up here to pick from. Email is never included, since it’s how customers sign in.
Ticket fields
Choose extra HubSpot ticket properties to show as fields on a customer’s “submit a ticket” form, beyond the subject and message that are always there.
Custom object
Show one HubSpot custom object type to your customers as its own portal tab — a read-only list of the records associated with them. Pick the object type from a live list of your portal’s actual custom objects, choose which properties to display, and set the tab’s customer-facing name (it defaults to the object’s plural label, but you can call it anything — “Warranties,” “Installs,” whatever fits).
PortalShip only shows a customer the records actually associated with them — via their HubSpot contact, their company, or both. Saving requires that the object type has at least one of those two association types defined in HubSpot; if it has neither, there’s no way to tell which customer a record belongs to, and the setting won’t save. Read-only for now — customers can view these records, not edit them.
Line items
One toggle turns on a “Line items” section, plus a property picker (price, quantity, SKU, description — whatever you choose) controlling exactly which fields customers can see.
Once enabled, it shows in two places automatically: on the Timeline, under the customer’s deal (line items are always tied to a deal in HubSpot); and, if you’ve also configured a custom object tab, nested under each of that object’s records — but only if that particular object type happens to have its own line-items association in HubSpot. There’s nothing extra to configure for the second case; it either applies or it doesn’t, based on your HubSpot setup.
Branding
Your logo and a brand color, applied throughout the customer-facing portal — sign-in, Timeline, every page a customer sees. This admin tool itself always stays PortalShip-branded; branding only ever affects your customers’ view.
Knowledge base
Write plain-text help articles for your own customers about your own process — how installs get scheduled, what to expect after a deal closes, anything you’d otherwise answer over email repeatedly. Published articles appear under the customer portal’s Help tab automatically.
